Finding my Healing...

I wanted to express my thoughts regarding the video that I shared “All my Devotion was Emotion” by Blair Wingo. I was extremely blessed when I stumbled upon what I call a true art for the Lord. Passion for Christ is saying the least. There’s a lot to be said about this clip, however what really sparked my interest the most is when she referred to the woman in the bible with the issue of blood. I’m sure you have read or heard the story. I sure have countless times; still I am grateful for her revelation of the word.

Mark 5:25-29 A certain woman, who had an issue of blood for twelve years, and had suffered many things by many physicians and had spent all that she had, and was no better but rather grew worse, having heard the things concerning Jesus, came up behind him in the crowd, and touched his clothes. For she said, “If I just touch his clothes, I will be made well.” Immediately the flow of blood was dried up, and she felt in her body that she was healed of her affliction.

Blair says in the video: Had the woman with the issue of blood never would have acknowledged her issue then she never would have broken through the crowd, received complete deliverance, and been completely turned around. Furthermore, if we now pretend to have no sin, than we will never touch him. We will never touch his hem.

Seldom do you hear this passage explained outside of the message of Faith. This is why I’m so excited about her statement since I believe it is one of the key components to receiving Gods healing and becoming the woman he called you to become.

First the fact that she acknowledged her issue is huge. That’s often not the case. She was probably filled with so much guilt and shame that I know it took a lot for her to gain the courage to make her way through the crowd and reach out for Jesus to simply touch the hem of his garment. I imagine the crowd for us would be the naysayers and critics, those who’ve hurt us and whom we’ve hurt, our family and friends. We often go on daily with those deeply hidden hurts and pains, shame and guilt’s; hurting those we say we love in turn living a life that is unhappy and can’t possibly be pleasing to God. Until you take the first step like she did and acknowledge those issues and broken areas that God wants to heal then you will continue to live unfulfilled.

So she acknowledged her issue. Great! But the bible says that she suffered a great deal under the care of many doctors and had spent all she had, yet instead of getting better she grew worse. That sounds familiar. We try so hard to deal with our own issues instead of taking them to Christ (the true doctor) to receive healing. We date the wrong guys, sometimes several wrong guys at one time; indulge in material things to make ourselves look and feel better and fill the emptiness, depend on others, allow ourselves to be used and abused and a myriad of other wrong ways to deal with those issues only to find ourselves worse than we started.

The scripture said having heard the things concerning Jesus she came up behind him and touched his hem. That’s interesting to me. She only heard about Jesus and what he could do. I know him and what he’s done for me. You know him and what he can do for you. He has blessed us to get married, jobs and cars, houses, babies, degrees, careers, so on and so forth many of the things we need and sometimes want. But without healing our lives, those are just things! He wants to heal the hurts from the past. What your mother and father did, or didn’t do, what people said about you (your skin color, weight or even your look), the generational curses, the pain of the divorce, abuse, and so much more. God desires for you to be healed so that you can receive what he has planned for you and to minister to others.

A good exercise is to ask God to help you identify areas where you need to be healed so that you can fully acknowledge your issues. Allow him to work on those issue so he can heal you. He will! God Bless.

Thank you for allowing me to be an encouragement to you. I Thank God for his gift and pray that something that I have said today has touched your heart and will allow you to seek God even more.
